The Mahindra Pik-Up range must be the most extensive range of bakkies in the world. It offers everything from a basic workhorse single cab, 4×2 to the most luxurious full-trim 4×4 twin-cab you can wish for, and everything in between. It even has specialist vehicles, like a game viewer, ambulance and construction model. People will buy a particular spec bakkie because it offers what they need, and the Pik-Up is competitively priced across its whole range.
The Mahindra S6 is the entry-level double cab in the range, with a lighter trim level than its pricier counterparts, but still offering the functionality of more seating. In the meantime, Mahindra had launched the top range S11 and S11 Karoo models with its new 6-speed AT and demand for this transmission has exploded.

This transmission was developed in conjunction with Aisin. It is fitted to the tried and tested 2.2-litre MHawk turbodiesel that gives you 103kW and 320Nm at under 10L/100km.
We all know that features come at a price, but even at its market-beating price, the S6 AT range is pretty well fitted. The S6 4×2 and 4×4 come standard with fog lamps, ABS with EBD and ESC. It has an aircon, an audio system with USB and aux port, cruise control, central locking, electric windows and electrically-adjustable side mirrors.
There are charging points in the front and back of the cabin, auto-lock doors, driver and passenger airbags and ISOFIX seat anchors in the back for child seats. The driver gets an armrest and a height-adjustable seat.
For drivers who want just that little bit more, this S6 AT also comes with the Karoo trim. In addition to all the features of the standard S6 AT, the Karoo gives you alloy wheels, a nudge bar, a rear styling bar and tonneau cover, colour-coded rear wheel arch mouldings and rain deflectors on the doors.
